How to use these Release Notes

The release notes are organized by solution area.  The UC identifier refers to a specific Use Case within the AssetOptics software development lifecycle (SDLC).  An explanation of the Use Case and delivered functionality follow.  If there are any configuration requirements, they will be listed in the Setup Requirements following the use case explanation.  The setup requirements should be used by your system administrator to plan and execute the AssetOptics managed package upgrade.

Asset Management

US-0220        Google Map Lightning Component

A Lightning component has been created for the Equipment/Asset object and added to the page layout.  A new formula field, Geolocation Null has been created which resolves to False when Geolocation values are entered on the Asset.  This formula is used to render the Map component visibility.

A similar component and formula field have been created on the Work Order.  When a Work Order is created against an Asset, the Geolocation values are copied from the Asset to the Work Order.

Setup Requirement:  If you are utilizing the standard AssetOptics profiles and permission sets, field level security will be updated upon upgrade.  If you are using org-specific profiles and/or permission sets, then field level security needs to be added to the Geolocation field (Geolocation_Null__c) on the Equipment/Asset (sm1a__AssetTag__c) object.

UC-0224        Display Assets on Space Hierarchy

The Space Hierarchy Lightning Component was updated to display Asset records as a child of Spaces if the Assets are contained within the Space.

Setup Requirement:  None

UC-0225        Update all Asset Tag references to Equipment/Asset

All references to the Asset Tag object have been relabeled to either Equipment/Asset or Asset ID.

Setup Requirement:  None

Dispatch Console

UC-0411        Dispatch Console APEX Controller RecordType Id reference

The Dispatch Console APEX controller has been updated to explicitly reference the Work Order RecordType Id’s entered in the Dispatch Console Work Order RecordTypes custom setting.  This update simplifies the configuration of specifying which Work Order RecordTypes are displayed in the Dispatch Console Task Grid.

Setup Requirement:  None

Inventory Management

UC-0236        Inter-Storeroom Transfer Orders

A new set of features have been created to support Inter-Storeroom Transfer Orders.  The Transfer Orders replace Purchase Orders in the automated demand-driven inventory replenishment process.  When the Stock Item is set up for Transfer Order sourcing, a Transfer Order along with Transfer Order Lines is created.  These orders can be filled by a sourcing Storeroom and received by a satellite Storeroom.  Satellite Storerooms can be either fixed location Storerooms or mobile as in “van stock” or “trunk stock” in a field service model.

Setup Requirement:  Please refer to the Transfer Orders knowledge article for details on the set up and use of Transfer Orders.

Preventive Maintenance Scheduling

UC-0221        Add Months to PM Schedule Calendar Interval UOM

The Calendar based PM Due Date calculations have expanded beyond Days and Weeks to now include Months.

Setup Requirement:  Enter “Months” into the Calendar Interval UOM picklist on the PM Schedule.

Purchasing

UC-0175        Added Bill to Address to Storerooms

Bill to Address fields have been added to the Storeroom.  Storeroom has been made a required field on the Purchase Order.  The Bill To Address fields on a Purchase Order are now inherited from Storeroom.  Prior to this update, the Bill To Address was inherited from a hierarchical custom setting.  This new configuration enables the use of a single user to schedule and generate purchase requisitions to replenish Stock Items while also enabling different Bill To Addresses by Storeroom.

Setup Requirement:  If you are utilizing the standard AssetOptics profiles and permission sets, field level security will be updated upon upgrade.  If you are using org-specific profiles and/or permission sets, then field level security needs to be added to the following fields on the Storeroom object:

  1. Billing Street
  2. Billing City
  3. Billing State/Province
  4. Billing Country
  5. Billing Zip/Postal Code
  6. Billing Address

UC-0238        Validation Rule to ensure PO Stock Item Storeroom matches Purchase Order Storeroom.

A validation rule has been added to ensure that the Storeroom on a Stock Item selected on a PO Stock Item line matches the Storeroom on the Purchase Order header.

Setup Requirement:  None

UC-0238        Release Date field added to Purchase Order

A new field, Release Date, has been added to the Purchase Order object.  This field is automatically updated when the Purchase Order Status is updated to Released.  The Status on a Purchase Order may be set to Released once and only once.  When the Status is updated to Released, application logic inserts an Inventory Transaction record with a Type of Order for each Stock Item.  It is this Inventory Transaction record that updates the On Order Qty for the Stock Item.

The addition of the Release Date field makes it easier to identify when a Purchase Order was released in lieu of viewing the Status update in the Purchase Order History audit trail.

Setup Requirement:  If you are utilizing the standard AssetOptics profiles and permission sets, field-level security will be updated upon upgrade.  If you are using org-specific profiles and/or permission sets, then field level security needs to be set for the Release Date field (Release_Date__c) on the Purchase Order object (sm1a__PurchaseOrder__c).  Set this field to Read Only for all profiles.  The field must also be added to the Purchase Order page layout.
