Equipment/Assets and the Asset Hierarchy

You are here:
< All Topics

Equipment/Asset records are used to represent tangible, physical assets.  Assets can be organized into a hierarchy by specifying the Parent Asset.  The order that child Assets are sorted within a node in the hierarchy is determined by the numerical value entered into the Hierarchy Sort Order field.

The Asset ID is an 80 character user-defined text string field that allows duplicate values.  There are three (3) pre-defined Record Types on the Asset; Equipment, Component, Vehicle.  Your system administrator can add more Record Types.
