April 1, 2012– SaaSMaint.com today announced The Marine Mammal Center has deployed the SaaSMaint CMMS / EAM solution. The Sausalito, California-based rescue and rehabilitation hospital for sick and injured marine mammals will rely on SaaSMaint to track and manage maintenance of the equipment used not only in facility operation, but also in providing maintenance of life support systems used to maintain pool water quality to the approximately 500-800 seal and sea lion patients it sees each year. SaaSMaint is currently being used by 50 staff members including a four-person maintenance team, and the Center plans to roll it out for use by 1000+ volunteers within the month.
“I am personally and professionally honored that SaaSMaint will help accomplish such a rewarding goal—keeping these amazing animals alive and well,” said SaaSMaint Founder Mike Edwards. “Through our partnership with the Salesforce Foundation, worthy non-profit organizations such as The Marine Mammal Center, can license SaaSMaint at an extremely deep discount. We’re proud to work with a number of non-profit and not-for-profit entities who participate in this program.”
The Marine Mammal Center uses SaaSMaint to track and manage work orders in real-time for everything from vehicles and generators to pumps and salinity analyzers. The Center’s Director of Life Support and Facilities, Tony Promessi, called SaaSMaint “ an amazing maintenance management tool” and said the product has revolutionized equipment maintenance tracking and management for the Center.
“The biggest feature the management software allows us to do is track the work and see how successful we are in completing it on time,” said Promessi. “SaaSMaint was easy to setup and use, and we can tailor it the way we want. We can go in and change fields on the fly and modify layouts, and we don’t need a consultant to come in. It really is a five-minute process.”
Another benefit, Promessi said, is SaaSMaint’s complete mobile integration. Staff can make and/or approve work order requests on their mobile devices from anywhere in the Center, which increases productivity and facilitates work flow. “Right now, probably 25-30% of the activity on the system is done through mobile phones,” Promessi said.
